Animal Babies is a Match and Learn picture game with sounds and music, for 3 to 8 year olds. The detailed graphics and original music make this game a delight to see as well as fun to play.
The game is divided into three sections of play. The object of the first section is to match the picture of the baby to its mother. In some cases, when the baby closely resembles the mother, this will be easy. However, there are several babies included which look quite different from their mothers (for example, a caterpillar and butterfly.) The child is also told the correct name of the baby (for example, a baby horse is called a foal.) In the second section of the game, the child is asked to remember and select the correct name of each baby. Finally, the third section will give the child additional information about each baby seen in the game. This third section requires reading skills.
This file is a StuffIt archive. The total uncompressed size of the application is 2 MB and requires about 2MB of free RAM for all pictures to be used and for the music to play smoothly. Animal Babies was designed to work best on systems with 256 color monitors, though it looks fine on gray-scale monitors. Although it will run on 16 color or less monitors, the graphics are not very appealing.
